What you’ll Learn…
In the first module you’ll learn how to find the right harp for your needs. Even if you have already purchased a harp you will learn the advantages and disadvantages of each kind of harp.
In the second module you’ll learn the best way to tune your harp, whether you have a lever or pedal harp.
In the third module, you learn how to hold the harp, as well as how to pluck the strings correctly, then you’ll be introduced to practicing scales, which are fundamental to any instrument.
The fourth module will introduce you to reading music. Step by step you’ll learn the treble and the bass clef. You’ll then learn how to play both clefs at the same time
This will be followed with exercises to practice regulary in both clefs.
The last module will show you how you can start writing your own music
As a songwriter, I believe its important to start creating your own music when you first start learning the harp (if that is something you want to do) This way you will not be stuck only knowing how to read notes on a page.
This is a lifetime course material to refer back to whenever you need. I learned the harp when I was nine years from Catherine ELliot who was a direct pupil of Marcel Tournier. Although I was trained classically I now use the harp to write my own songs.
